Based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands I have always been fascinated by the intrinsic relationship of this country with water. This is what I try to capture in my photography. Using long exposure techniques, time becomes the fourth dimension in the picture.
I seek the ordinary, everyday view of the extraordinary interplay between time and space. Structures submerged in a moving medium such as water and air. The motion of water or clouds reveals and exemplifies time.
Not a single infinitesimal moment but an entire period is now the photograph. In a way the scene has never existed since it is the integral of many scenes. On the other hand it is maybe the only scene that truly exists both in space and time.
